Description

Responsibilities: Under the supervision of the Youth Engagement Services Clinical Coordinator brings together local system partners i.e. schools, police, DHHS, Purchase of Service Agencies for Foster Care and Primary Care Physicians, with the goals of: Increasing access points and mechanisms related to getting unidentified youth at risk of suicide, substance use and other disorders linked to appropriate treatment and triaging crisis situations and linking to appropriate referral source. Provide Prevention activities for youth, parents and community partners, including: youth skill-based groups in the community, internal and external training and other prevention workshops that may include topics such as suicide prevention, accessing services for mental health, QPR, AMSR, substance use and other youth mental health related topics. Participates in community fairs, events and other outreach related activities as related to youth mental health, accessing behavioral health services and other prevention topics. May complete intake assessments to help families access services. Responsible for carrying out all activities of the program/ sub-unit in such a manner that fulfills CMHA-CEI mission, policies and procedures.



Requirements: Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or closely related field required or must be obtained within 60 days of application. Possession of an appropriate State of MI credential is required or must have applied for and be able to obtain within 60 days of hire. Five years of experience (professional or paraprofessional) in the examination, evaluation and treatment of children and adolescents with Severe Emotional Disturbance and their families required. Five years of post Master’s experience with minors with SED and families within the past 6 years. Ability to communicate accurately and effectively both in writing and verbally is required. Candidate must be able to work well with others. Possession of a valid Michigan driver’s license and aces to reliable means of transportation for job related use is required.




Conditional Employment Requirement: Employment offers for this position will be contingent upon the results a background verification and credentialing procedure consisting of: Michigan State Police clearance check, pass a Central Registry Screening, verification of a professional license, Medicaid/Medicare verification, verification of an acceptable driving record, educational background check and verification of an acceptable work history. Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen.

Salary/Hours: $58,843-$66,788 annually with scheduled, annual increases that can result in a salary of $77,230. M-F 8am-5pm with some evening and possible weekend hours as programming dictates 40 hours



Location: Families Forward, Lansing, Michigan.
