Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) - Ridgeway (PRN)

Location: Cape Girardeau, MO

Base Pay: $15.38/hour + shift differentials


Join Community Counseling Center in making a difference! We�re hiring dedicated Behavioral Health Technicians to provide compassionate care in our Ridgeway Program, a 10-bed all-female facility supporting women with chronic mental health diagnoses.

    • Evening shift: +$0.50/hour

    • Overnight shift: +$1.00/hour



  • Flexible PRN Shifts: Typically, 1 shift per week on an as-needed basis.



About the Ridgeway Program


Ridgeway is a trauma-informed, intensive residential treatment program providing essential support to women facing complex mental health challenges (e.g., anxiety, bipolar disorder, depression). As part of our team, you�ll play a crucial role in promoting wellness and safety in a structured, therapeutic environment.


Role Overview: Behavioral Health Technician


As a BHT, you will be a role model and mentor, supporting clients with:



  • Safety & Well-being: Ensure a safe, therapeutic environment.

  • Life Skills Development: Assist with daily routines, social skills, emotional coping, and wellness strategies.

  • Direct Support & Documentation: Observe, document, and collaborate with the treatment team to promote individual client goals.


Key Responsibilities



  • Support clients� daily living skills, including self-care and household responsibilities.

  • Model positive coping techniques, social skills, and emotional wellness.

  • Participate in group activities and engage clients in recreational and therapeutic exercises.

  • Conduct regular checks and oversee client safety and facility conditions.

  • Administer and document medication per guidelines and report any discrepancies immediately.



Qualifications



  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (GED/HSE) required.

  • Experience: Preferred background in Healthcare or Mental Health (minimum two years) or an undergraduate degree.

  • Driver�s License: MO Class E Driver�s License (or Class D for IL residents) required before the start date.

    • Note: This is a written test only; no driving test is required. More on Class E License requirements.
