Sunbelt is seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Psychologist near La Grange Park, Illinois for a contracted position during theschool year. As a School Psychologist, you will play a crucial role in supporting the academic, emotional, and behavioral well-being of students. You will work collaboratively with educators, parents, and other professionals to provide comprehensive psychological services and interventions. You will be working with students grades K-8.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations to identify students' strengths and challenges in cognitive, academic, social-emotional, and behavioral domains.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans (BIPs) that meet students' unique needs.
- Provide counseling and guidance services to students individually or in small groups to address emotional, social, and behavioral issues.
- Facilitatedata review and problem-solving meetings
- Support the development and implementation of evidence-based interventions to promote positive learning environments and improve student outcomes.
- Consult with teachers and school staff to address classroom management strategies, learning strategies, and accommodations for students with special needs.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case conferences, and Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings to contribute expertise and collaborate on student support plans.
- Provide crisis intervention and support during emergency situations or critical incidents.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of assessments, interventions, and progress monitoring.
- Stay up to date with current research and best practices in the field of school psychology.
Qualifications:
- Master's or doctoral degree in School Psychology from an accredited program.
- Current state license or certification as a School Psychologist (or eligible for licensure/certification).
- Strong knowledge of psychological theories, assessment tools, and intervention strategies.
- Experience conducting assessments and evaluations for students with diverse learning and behavioral needs.
- Familiarity with special education laws and regulations.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively collaborate with students, parents, teachers, and administrators.
- Empathy, patience, and the ability to establish rapport with students and create a safe and supportive environment.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
