For more than 118 years, Backus Hospital has been the primary source of healthcare services for much of Eastern Connecticut. We deliver and coordinate a continuum of high-quality healthcare with the goal of improving the health of our communities. *Job Summary* Licensed Crisis Clinician provides comprehensive psychiatric assessments within the Emergency Department making recommendations and assisting in the coordination of care for patients presenting with behavioral health and substance abuse needs while working collaboratively with the emergency department interdisciplinary teams. Clinician responds to crisis calls. Conducts advocacy, referral and discharge planning to meet patient/family needs. Works with patients' community behavioral health and medical providers to assure coordination of clinical care. Facilitates treatment process by referring patient/family members to appropriate level of care, and other resources as well as providing direct crisis intervention services. This is a per diem position, must be able to work minimum 2 shifts per month, mainly needed for first and second shifts. * Current CT license LCSW, LMFT, or LPC required. LCSW is preferred. * Master's degree in Social Work, Professional Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy required * A minimum of two years' experience in a psychiatric setting required, preferably in an emergency department/crisis role, four years' experience preferred. * Highly effective verbal and written communication skills, Bi-lingual Spanish language skills preferred. * Is cognizant of health-related social needs and cultural competence.
