Rivermont Schools provides special education for students ages 5-22 in grades K-12 across Virginia. We offer small class sizes, individualized learning plans, and use evidence-based strategies through our team of educators, behavior analysts, and therapists to help students overcome challenges and achieve their goals.

What we offer:
  • Consistent Pay: Same hourly rate for all work, with no differentiation between billable and non-billable hours, and no reductions for student cancellations
  • Schedule: 35 to 40 Hours, 7:30am-3:30pm Monday to Friday (No nights, No weekends)

Job Responsibilities:
  • Assist the lead teacher in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs
  • Provide support in the classroom by helping students with their academic tasks, including literacy and math activities.
  • Assist students with self-help skills, including toileting, feeding, and personal hygiene, to promote independence.
  • Monitor student progress and behavior, providing feedback to teachers to help adjust teaching strategies, as necessary.
Qualifications:
  • At least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • A genuine passion for working with children, along with patience and compassion
Preferred/Nice to have:
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in psychology or related field
  • Experience working with children with special needs or autism through volunteer work, employment, or other relevant experiences
