The Mental Health Counselor position requires a diverse set of skills to effectively support individuals in need of mental health services as part of a busy and supportive practice, Senua Counseling Clinic. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, hold a Masters degree and be a current resident in the state of Oregon.

In this position, you will provide psychosocial assessments, short-term, and long-term counseling to a wide variety of outpatient clients, including individuals, couples, and families, under the supervision of a Licensed Therapist.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual mental health counseling in an outpatient setting 25-30 hours per week.
  • Intake paperwork for services including biopsychosocial assessments, assessment for medical necessity, provide/clarify diagnosis, and create and implement initial treatment plans.
  • Complete ongoing documentation in a timely manner including assessments, re-assessment of diagnosis, treatment plan reviews, progress notes, and other documentation as appropriate according to company policy/protocol and client needs.
  • Provide excellent clinical services for clients through the use of creativity and innovative therapy tools to help clients achieve and exceed their goals.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Coordinate services/referrals and collaborate with families and professional supports, as needed.
  • Collaborate with a dynamic and passionate team to further the mission of filling the gaps in our community.
  • Attend and participate in individual supervision.
  • Maintain active registration with the appropriate licensing board and be actively working towards licensure.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Required to have a masters degree in one of the behavioral health sciences from a CACREP accredited college or university.
  • Residing in Oregon.
  • Required experience with completing biopsychosocial/diagnostic assessments, treatment plans and clinical progress notes.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate and model stable appropriate boundaries with clients and engage in ethical practice.
  • Organized and reliable, including the ability to complete and submit documentation of services and other documents in a timely manner.
  • Ability to manage client caseload with Clinical Supervisor's oversight.
  • Comfort and familiarity working with a diverse client base demonstrating compassion and acceptance.
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a team environment that values humor and authenticity.
  • A passion for destigmatizing mental health.

Benefits

COMPENSATION:

$50 per client hour, between 25 and 30 hours per week. $64,300-$76,800 depending on hours worked. Opportunity for growth, if desired.

You are also paid for required Supervision hours and any mandatory training.
