Resurrection has an opening for a Mental Health Therapist in our Care & Mental Wellness division! The position is full-time, exempt and is located at the Leawood campus at 13720 Roe Ave. Please see below for a full job description.


Job Summary

The Mental Health Therapist primarily provides counseling services to individuals (children/teens/adults), couples, and families, supporting their emotional and mental well-being. In addition to delivering direct therapeutic care, this role plays a critical part in the supervision and mentorship of master’s level counseling interns, guiding their professional development and ensuring they meet clinical standards.

Position-Specific

Counseling Direct Services:

  • Provide Direct Counseling Services: Offer individual, couples, and family counseling to clients, addressing a wide range of mental health issues and emotional challenges.
  • Supervise Counseling Interns: Support Clinical Director in providing clinical supervision to master’s level counseling interns, overseeing their client work, offering feedback, and ensuring adherence to ethical and professional standards.
  • Develop and Implement Treatment Plans: Conduct assessments, create individualized treatment plans, and monitor progress to ensure the best outcomes for clients.
  • Collaborate with Multidisciplinary Teams Church-wide: Work closely with Interns, Clinical Director, pastoral staff, administrative staff and community partners to ensure coordinated and holistic client care.
  • Maintain Client Documentation: Keep accurate and timely records of client interactions, treatment plans, and progress notes, adhering to confidentiality and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in regular case reviews, clinical consultations, and team meetings to ensure high-quality care and continuous learning.
  • Collaborate with Clinical Director and supervise master’s level counseling interns to develop and lead support groups on relevant mental health topics. Ensure the effective delivery of these groups to support the wider community, providing guidance and oversight to interns as they facilitate group sessions.
  • Engage in Professional Development: Stay up-to-date with the latest therapeutic practices, research, and professional development opportunities, including participating in training and cross-discipline learning.
  • Ensure Compliance with Ethical Standards: Ensure all counseling practices follow state licensure requirements, legal standards, and ethical guidelines as outlined by professional counseling boards.
  • Contribute to Organizational Growth: Assist in the development and expansion of counseling programs and services in line with the organization’s strategic goals.

Qualifications

  • Have an advanced degree in a mental health-related field with a minimum of 5 years of counseling experience with diverse populations, adults, and children.
  • Clinical Licensed Mental Health Professional approved to practice in the state of Kansas and Missouri.
  • 2 years of clinical supervision experience is preferred.
  • Proficient in database management, Microsoft Office Suite, and online platforms.
