Job DescriptionJob DescriptionHealthcare Staffing Professionals, Inc. is looking for qualified Mental Health Workers for this position working in a psychiatric hospital located in Concord, NH. Candidates will assist patients with daily activities, assist nurses with simple clerical and nursing-related tasks, perform paraprofessional nursing support duties in the care and treatment of patients, and perform other related work.
Pay Rate: $25/hr
3p-11p and 11p-7a working 40hrs per week
Job Duties:
  • candidates will work under the supervision of RNs or LVNs to assist with patient care including bathing and feeding, maintaining supplies in a clean and orderly manner
  • guiding patients through daily routines
  • preparing, compiling and maintaining medical and electronic medical records for the nursing and medical staff members
  • assists and lifts patients into and out of beds, into wheelchairs, and onto and off the toilet
  • maintains cleanliness of patient-care areas
  • provides escort for patients going to court, clinics, and therapy sessions
  • assists professional staff with patient examinations, special procedures, and therapy
  • assists with handling confused, agitated, disturbed and combative patients
  • observes patient behavior and reports same to professional staff
  • records observations and document s the patient's condition and progress in the patient's medical record which may include plotting data on graphs and charts such as temperature, blood pressure, and heart rate

Knowledge of:

  • Proper and safe lifting techniques
Skills and Abilities to:
  • Follow written and oral instructions in a medical setting
  • Perform manual labor, which requires constant lifting, pushing, stooping and bending in the performance of patient care
  • Prepare written records and complete logs
  • Record observation on patients and document patients condition and progress in medical records
  • Maintain the confidentiality and integrity of medical records
  • Utilize automated and manual record keeping systems
  • Prepare and proofread routine reports, records, and correspondence
Qualification:
  • Valid drivers license
  • Current healthcare provider CPR card required
  • one year experience in mental health, paraprofessional, or care takers working with mental/chronic illness.
