Description
We are seeking a dedicated Advanced Practice Provider (APP) in Behavioral Neurology who will be responsible for the evaluation and ongoing management of individuals with cognitive disorders including mild cognitive impairment, Alzheimer's disease dementia, Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD), and Dementia with Lewy Bodies (DLB). The APP will also be responsible for the management of patients with Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH). The APP will play an integral part in the multidisciplinary Alzheimer's Therapeutics Clinic, providing comprehensive care to patients as a core component of their practice. The APP will work collaboratively with behaivoral neurologists in the Department of Neurology. The practice will include, but is not limited to, comprehensive physical assessment, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescription of pharmacological agents and treatments, education, counseling, and follow-up management of patients predominantly with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias and NPH.
Qualifications
Masters prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program. Current Minnesota RN license and certification as a FNP, ANP, or AGNP.
Or graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and registration as a PA by the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice.
Must be eligible for DEA registration and billing privileges.
Strong written and oral communication skills are required and must have demonstrated skill in working collaboratively with all members of the healthcare team.
BLS certification and DEA registration required.
