School is looking for a direct hire next school year for a school PSYCH
K-12
Conducts psychological assessments, testing and diagnostic examinations of students for the purpose of recommending courses of action or corrective procedures to maximize learning and overcoming psychological issues.
Masters Degree in Psychology required

Job Tasks:
Assessment and Evaluation:
Psychological Testing: Conduct assessments to evaluate students' cognitive abilities, learning styles, and emotional or behavioral challenges.
Eligibility Determination: Assess students for eligibility for special education services under IDEA or Section 504 plans.
Data Analysis: Analyze assessment results and share findings with educators and families to guide decision-making.
Intervention and Counseling:
Individual Counseling: Provide one-on-one counseling to address students mental health, behavioral, or academic challenges.
Group Counseling: Facilitate group sessions to support peer relationships, social skills, or coping strategies.
Crisis Intervention: Respond to and support students and staff during crises, such as traumatic events or emergencies.
Behavioral Interventions: Design and implement behavioral management plans to address student concerns.
Collaboration and Consultation:
Teacher Support: Consult with teachers to implement effective instructional strategies and classroom management techniques.
Family Engagement: Work closely with families to address students academic or behavioral challenges and provide parenting strategies.
Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Collaborate with special educators, administrators, and other school staff to ensure comprehensive student support.
Community Resources: Connect families with external mental health or social service agencies when needed.
Prevention and Education:
Program Development: Design and implement school-wide programs to promote mental health, anti-bullying, and social-emotional learning (SEL).
Workshops and Training: Provide training for staff and parents on topics such as trauma-informed practices, diversity, or effective communication.
Early Intervention: Identify students at risk for academic or emotional difficulties and develop preventive measures.
Legal and Administrative Duties:
Compliance: Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local laws regarding student welfare, such as IDEA and Section 504.
IEP and 504 Meetings: Participate in meetings to support the development of individualized plans for students with disabilities.
Documentation: Maintain detailed records of assessments, interventions, and communications.
Policy Advising: Assist in developing school policies that promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment.
Advocacy and Research:
Student Advocacy: Advocate for students rights and needs within the school system.
Research: Stay updated on best practices, psychological research, and evidence-based interventions to enhance professional practice.

Job Description:
Provide psychological assessments to identify students' mental health and learning needs.
Implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs) for students with emotional or behavioral challenges.
Assist teachers and support staff in managing classroom behavior and promoting positive social-emotional skills.
Collect and analyze data on student progress, behavior, and responses to interventions.
Collaborate with special education teams to tailor strategies for individual student needs.
Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Requirements:
Masters Degree in School Psychology from an accredited program.
Valid state licensure as a School Psychologist in the state of employment.
Certification as a Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP) is preferred.
