Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)


Georgia Connections Academy is a tuition-free, full-time virtual school for students in grades K-12 throughout Georgia. The school is authorized by the Georgia Charter Schools Commission and governed by an independent Board of Directors, with a mission to maximize academic achievement for students who are seeking other academic options. The school is operated by Georgia Connections Academy, a nonprofit corporation, through a contract with Connections Academy of Georgia, LLC, to provide its educational program and other services. Connections Academy, a division of Connections Education, is accredited by AdvancED, and GACA is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges & Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement.

Position Summary and Responsibilities
Working from our office in Duluth, Georgia, the Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) works under the direct supervision of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to implement individualized treatment plans for students with developmental and behavioral challenges. The RBT plays a key role in delivering behavior therapy, monitoring progress, and supporting students in achieving developmental goals.


The RBT will be responsible for the following tasks:



  • Provide one-on-one or small group therapy sessions virtually in a school setting.

  • Follow treatment plans developed by the BCBA to teach communication, social, self-help, and play skills.

  • Accurately record data on student behaviors and program progress during sessions.

  • Submit session notes and reports to the supervising BCBA in a timely manner.

  • Implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs) to reduce challenging behaviors and encourage positive behaviors.

  • Utilize evidence-based techniques to manage and redirect problematic behaviors.

  • Communicate effectively with students, families, and team members to ensure a collaborative approach.

  • Participate in team meetings and training sessions as directed by the BCBA.

  • Adhere to the RBT Ethics Code and maintain student confidentiality at all times.

  • Follow organizational policies and comply with state and federal regulations.

  • Other duties as assigned


Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required).

  • Certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).

  • Eligible to receive a Paraprofessional certification

  • Experience working with children, especially those with autism or other developmental delays (preferred).

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for working with individuals with developmental challenges.

  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and implement treatment plans with fidelity.

  • Reliable, punctual, and organized.
