Description

Position Summary:


The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) is responsible for the direct implementation of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) programming with clients at Westside Children’s Therapy, under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Providing predominantly play-based therapy, the RBT will support Westside clients in the development of a wide variety of skills.


Essential Functions:



  • Implement direct therapy services for assigned clients and caseload, following programming written by BCBA

  • Engage with BCBA during regular supervision sessions to ask questions and receive feedback

  • Collect and record data on patients behavior

  • Complete and submit required documentation (SOAP notes, etc) in a timely manner, aligned with Westside's policies and procedures

  • Develop strong relationships with the children on your caseload and strive to make every session a fun experience

  • Participate in weekly team meetings with clinic’s ABA team

  • Maintain targeted caseload of 30 therapy hours per week


Qualifications

Required Education, Experience and Credentials:



  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • 1 year of experience as an RBT at Westside or 2 years of experience progressive progressive leadership experience in a RBT or similar role

  • Previous experience working with the special needs population, particularly in ABA

  • Active RBT certification required at time of hire



Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:



  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Competence with a variety of computer applications

  • Comfortable persona to better develop relationships with children and their families

Work Environment and Physical Demands:



  • Ability to learn and implement de-escalation skills for client sessions

  • Ability to lift or carry 30 lbs

  • Ability to work in a variety of positions, including on the floor during played-based therapy



Travel Requirements



  • Some travel within assigned region for training, meetings and supporting client coverage needs.
