Major Responsibilities:

  • Assists educators and providers in recognizing and treating students’ behavioral health disorders and psychological problems. Provides individual and group counseling, and information on community resources.
  • Works as part of an interdisciplinary team to provide student care and coordination. Consults and collaborates with educators, site staff and providers regarding treatment plans and counseling referral coordination.
  • Assists in detecting at-risk students. Assists in developing plans to prevent additional psychological and/or physical deterioration.
  • Establishes and maintains a professional and therapeutic relationship within the standards of patient profiles, confidentiality laws and the latest clinical research available.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a master’s degree in clinical social work or counseling.
  • At least three years of clinical practice experience providing group and/or individual therapy in a hospital or community setting.
  • State of Illinois license as an LCSW (licensed clinical social worker) or LCPC (licensed clinical professional counselor).
