School Based Mental Health Worker - 10 Month Position

Job Description

This position is responsible for working with the behavioral and clinical teams within the IBMT DCIU Alternative Schools (The County Alternative High School and the Aston Education Center). She/he/they will utilize assessment tools to identify behavioral and mental health needs and develop interventions while partnering with staff in the school and community to support the student. While working as part of a team, this position requires a significant amount of autonomy and ideal candidates will possess the ability to adapt approaches based on the individual needs of students. While this is a 10-month, hourly position, summer hours are limited to the extended school year schedule. The school day work hours are 7:30am-3pm M-F.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Human Service or related field including psychology, counseling, or social work
  • One or more years of clinical or behavioral experience
  • 2 or more years of experience providing therapy or direct service work (such as IBHS) to children & adolescents

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, or BCBA

Program Specific Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct services to individuals, families, and groups through a wide variety of treatment modalities including but not limited to behavior modification, individual, group, and family therapies in multiple school settings.
  • Create, maintain, and update treatment and/or behavioral plans accordingly to address client specific needs.
  • Coordinate total care given by collaborating with multidisciplinary professionals to provide and facilitate care in accordance with policies and procedures, philosophy and objectives of Child and Family Focus.
  • Serve as a liaison between Child and Family Focus and school district staff focusing on customer services, community partnerships, and advocacy for students in need
  • Utilize multiple electronic health records, when needed
  • Demonstrate ongoing availability during the school year
  • Typical work hours are 7:30am-3pm M-F

Work Environment:

  • Work within in a school setting at DCIU Aston Educational Center, and The County Alternative High School. Travel between the schools may be required.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Hourly pay range: $22-$25 hourly
  • Additional pay for any ESY hours worked
