WHO YOU ARE
You are a devoted and enthusiastic School Psychologist who partners with various districts to provide a full range of school psychology services to children ages birth to twenty-one, including screening and assessment, designing remedial education programs, individual and group counseling and functions as a member of the multidisciplinary team to determine the student’s eligibility for special services, appropriate programming, and on-going progress in school-based environment.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Screening - Conduct extensive psychological examination of referred children including selecting appropriate instruments, administering tests, observations, and writing reports which state the evaluation findings, and provide for educational programs.
Evaluation - Ensure that student progress is evaluated on a regular, systematic basis and that findings are used in making decisions to improve program effectiveness as it relates to specific student needs.
Consulting - Provide consultative services to school personnel and parents.
Communication - Function as a liaison between the school and family in the student assessment and interpretation of test results.
Counseling - Counsel individually and in-group format with the special education qualified students.
Collaboration - Participate as a team/group member in such programs as suicide prevention, crisis management, social learning, mediation, and outdoor education.
Education - Maintain a working knowledge of district curricula and instructional strategies.
Innovation - Encourage the development and piloting of unique programs.
Other responsibilities as assigned.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
Qualifications
Master’s degree in Psychology or related degree field
School Psychology Certification
Experience working with individuals with developmental delays
Clearances & Training Required
Act 33 PA Child Abuse History Clearance
Act 34 PA State Criminal History Clearance
Act 114 FBI Clearance issued by the Dept of Education
Act 126 Mandated Reporter Training Certificate
Act 168 from Previous Employers where you came into contact with children
State License of Practice and/or Certification
