What you will be doing: - Work with clients, either individually or in groups, to address mental health concerns.
- Apply knowledge and skill to assist clients in recovery and illness management.
- Establish the boundaries of therapy, including a comfortable and safe environment.
- Create a caring therapeutic culture and foundation for client/family engagement in recovery and behavioral management.
- Complete a comprehensive assessment to gather data and information, resulting in clinical formulation as the framework for the development of the treatment plan.
- Collaborate with the client/family to establish goals for treatment and identify interventions to promote goal achievement.
- Ensure timely, accurate documentation in the client’s medical record.
- Coordinate care with colleagues in the clinic and throughout the continuum to secure appropriate treatment resources.
- Participate in the on-call rotation for Emergency Departments to provide mental health crisis evaluations.
- Demonstrate behaviors consistent with the Healing Environment principles, ensuring safety, promoting dignity, respect, well-being, and exemplifying healthy relationships.
Experience you will need: - Minimum: Master's degree in Mental Health, Social Work, Nursing, Art Therapy, or Psychology.
- Preferred: PhD.
- License: New York State Mental Health Counselor License, Social Work License to practice in NYS, New York State Nurse's License, or License in Creative Arts Therapy.
- NYS Driver's License clear of violations consistent with health organization policy.
- Certification: BLS required through the RQI system during clinical orientation; CPI certification within 90 days of hire.
- Minimum: 1 year of experience in a mental health or hospital setting.
- Preferred: 3 years of experience in a mental health setting.
