Position Summary:





Under the supervision of a Clinical Manager provides clinical consultation and backup administrative assistance for the program’s clinical staff. Also, provides individual therapy and case management and/or group education and therapy for a reduced caseload of patients with alcohol and other drug dependency problems.





Competencies:







Education:



Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Mental Health or related discipline.





Knowledge:




  • Comprehensive knowledge of individual, group and/or family therapeutic techniques sufficient to provide clinical consultation to therapists/counselors in a substance abuse treatment setting.

  • Knowledge of general policies and procedures governing substance abuse treatment programs. ­



Skills:




  • Must have high level of analytical ability necessary to gather, interpret and communicate data related to patient evaluations and ongoing treatment.

  • Must have oral communication skills that allow effective clinical consultation to therapists/counselors.

  • Must have interpersonal skills necessary to provide counseling and treatment to patients and to coordinate patient’s status.





Must have the following licensure in order to perform independent psychotherapy:




  • Certified Social Worker- Clinical (LCSWC), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), Licensed Clinical Counselor- Marriage and Family Therapist (LCMFT), Certified Professional Counselor- Marriage and Family Therapist (CPC-MFT), Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC), or Licensed Psychologist.

  • Three to five years in substance abuse or related mental health treatment; experience in a clinical setting.
