What will you do as an Outpatient Mental Health Therapist?

  • As a Therapist in the Outpatient Mental Health (OPMH) department, you will provide outpatient services such as assessment, individual, family, couples, crisis, and school-based behavioral health therapy services and case management as needed.
  • A typical day as a therapist will include the provision of clinical services in different settings (telehealth, in-person, school-based), collaboration with team members, and advocacy for clients served. As a therapist, typical working days include Monday-Friday, with varying daily schedules based on client needs.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Master's degree in human services-related field required
  • A minimum of 1 years of relevant professional experience
  • Provisional or fully licensed to practice therapy in North Carolina (depending on specific program)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite application software, excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License and meet any credentialing, licensing, and privileging standards as it pertains to the department you are in.
  • All potential job candidates must pass a drug screening test, and an extensive background check is required.
