TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Psych RN in Adair, Iowa, 50002!
About The Position
**Job Title:** Registered Nurse (RN)
**Job Specialty:** Psychiatric Nurse
**Job Duration:** 26 weeks
**Shift:** Nights - 12hr PRN Shifts (7 PM - 7 AM)
**Guaranteed Hours:** Not specified
**Experience:** 12 months of prior experience required; experience in psychiatric settings is preferred
**License:** Registered Nurse
**Certifications:** BLS and CPI
**Must-Have:** Ability to conduct CIWA/COWS assessments, perform UAs, and establish and maintain firm, empathetic boundaries
**Job Description:**
- Serve as part of a regional float pool providing care in an inpatient substance abuse treatment facility for patients 18 years and older
- Work in a unit with 50 beds, assisting voluntary patients, with no use of restraints
- Ensure comprehensive patient care through established assessment protocols and interventions
- Administer appropriate treatments and support in a calm and professional manner
- Maintain proper documentation using the HCS electronic medical record system
- Collaborate effectively with behavioral health assistants and ensure seamless patient care during night shifts:
- From 7 PM to 11 PM, work alongside 2-3 behavioral health assistants
- From 11 PM to 7 AM, work alongside 1 behavioral health assistant
- Participate in 2-3 days of orientation with 12-hour shifts to provide thorough training and ensure full comfort in the role
Additional Information:
- No on-site security; administrative and medical staff are on call at all times
- Adhere to dress code: scrubs
- Visiting hours are Sundays from 1 PM to 4 PM
