About The Position
**Job Title:** Clinical Nurse
**Profession:** Registered Nurse (RN)
**Specialty:** Behavioral Health Emergency Department
**Duration:** 13 Weeks
**Shift:** Nights
**Hours per Shift:** 12 Hours
**Experience:** Minimum of 1 Year of Nursing Experience
**License:** Registered Nurse License in applicable state
**Certifications:** Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI)
**Must-Have:** Nursing Diploma or ADN/ASN from an accredited school of Nursing
**Description:**
The Clinical Nurse provides competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards in a hospital setting. Reporting to the Nurse Manager/Director, this position is responsible for coordinating and delivering patient care utilizing the nursing process.
**Essential Duties:**
- **Education:** Identify and meet learning needs, attend relevant education programs, and provide patient education.
- **Evaluation of Care:** Establish expected patient outcomes, revise care plans with guidance, and communicate relevant information to ensure continuity of care.
- **Implementation:** Deliver care for patients with complex problems, perform bedside testing, follow nursing standards, and prioritize patient needs.
- **Leadership:** Develop professional growth goals, collaborate with departments, participate in unit improvements, promote cost-effective care, and give feedback to co-workers.
- **Patient Assessment:** Recognize priorities in complex patient situations, synthesize assessment data, anticipate discharge needs, and develop relationships with families for advocacy.
- **Planning:** Collaborate on care plans, utilize multidisciplinary resources, address cultural issues, and prioritize tasks for complex patients.
- **Research:** Engage with relevant journals and bring ideas to the staff for assessment.
This position requires a commitment to creating a safe and secure environment, following public policy guidelines, and engaging in professional growth activities.
